In an age where digital Bible translations are becoming more common, don’t underestimate the message you can send by carrying a print Bible. According to Barna’s new study, “Teens and the Bible,” print copies aren’t going out of style anytime soon. In fact, the study tells us most teens appreciate seeing others read the Bible in a public place. “When they encounter others reading the Bible, teens most commonly say they are happy to see other Christians around (37 percent), they are grateful to see that sacred books are still important to people (36 percent), and they feel encouraged (33 percent),” Barna reports.

Tim Elmore, president of Growing Leaders and an expert on the upcoming generation says, “More than 65 percent of [teens] consists of visual learners, but few leaders are engaging the visual parts of the brain when they teach.” It becomes clear: Modeling Bible-reading to this population is one way you can implicitly improve your communication.
