Over a Third of U.S. Women Worry About Sexual Assault

34 percent of American women report this fear

Influence Magazine on October 17, 2016

According to a new study from Gallup, 34 percent of American women say they “frequently” or “occasionally” worry about being sexually assaulted. Younger women worry about this much more frequently — 42 percent of women under the age 50 report worrying about this often.

According to Gallup, “more Americans, and more women, are concerned about sexual assault than in recent years."

As the Church, it is important that we acknowledge these real-life issues. Consider hosting safety training courses and seminars for the women in your congregation. Whether or not the women in your church are vocalizing these fears, they are likely experiencing them.
