The Case for Christ Movie Opens Nationwide
Strobel’s bestseller portrayed on screen
The Case for Christ, a faith-based film based on The New York Times bestselling book by Lee Strobel, opened in theaters Friday.
The movie tells the story of Strobel’s journey from atheism to Christianity. In the early 1980s, the award-winning Chicago Tribune reporter and legal editor set out to investigate the biggest story of his life: the claims of Christ. Strobel intended to use his Yale law education and journalistic skills to discredit the Scriptures and turn his wife against her newfound faith.
But as the evidence in favor of Christianity mounted, Strobel came to believe the Bible and ultimately accepted Christ as Savior.
Strobel recently appeared with executive editor George Paul Wood on two episodes of the Influence podcast (Why Evangelism Needs Apologetics and Raising Your Church’s Evangelistic Temperature).
Strobel is a professor at Houston Baptist University in Texas and co-director of an evangelism and apologetics ministry. He has shared his testimony in churches and Christian conferences around the nation. His newsletter, Investigating Faith, is distributed by Biblegateway.
The Case for Christ film stars Mike Vogel, Erika Christensen, Faye Dunaway and Robert Forster. It is a production of Pure Flix, creators of the God’s Not Dead series.
