Bible Gateway Reveals the Top Searches of 2018

Old Testament verses were popular

During 2018, Bible Gateway users were looking for a reminder that God has a plan. Of more than 2 billion page views, the most popular verse on the website was Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’

“Love” was the most-searched keyword in 2018, followed by “peace,” “faith,” “joy,” and “hope,” Bible Gateway reported.

The most popular passages of the year were also from the Old Testament and include similar themes of divine care: Psalm 91 and Psalm 23. In fact, four of the year’s 10 most-sought verses were from Psalm 23.
