God calls pastors to shepherd the people they lead.
God calls pastors to shepherd the people they lead. In fact, even if you’re not a pastor, there’s a shepherding element to your leadership.
The apostle Peter said, “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them — not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away” (1 Peter 5:2–4).
But what does it mean to shepherd — or care for — the flock God entrusted to you? And how do you maintain a shepherding posture as the church or organization grows?
These lessons will walk you through eight questions to help you practically live out the shepherding role of a leader.
As churches begin a new year, many pastors are looking for training tools for staff members and volunteers. Influence is pleased to make these materials available as part of our ongoing effort to partner with ministry leaders to promote individual and Kingdom growth.
